Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has dismissed speculation linking the club with a 70-year title curse ahead of Sunday’s Carabao Cup final against Liverpool.

The last time the Magpies celebrated victory was when they won the FA Cup in 1955, 70 years ago. It is said that shortly afterwards a group of travellers came to the area where Newcastle used to train and were forced out of the area and it is rumoured that they cursed the club.
Since then, the team has reached five เว็บพนันออนไลน์ UFABET สมัครง่าย โปรโมชั่นมากมาย Wembley finals, all of which ended in defeat, and there has been a growing belief in that. But Howe dismisses that idea, saying: “I don’t buy into that idea. The results aren’t always bad.”
“I understand that the record in the finals is not good, but I think we qualified for the Champions League when we gave our all at the end of the season. We had to overcome many obstacles if we wanted to qualify and we overcame them.”
“So there are many examples where we have achieved success, but reaching the final is not easy. Now we are here, we just have to play to our full potential.”
“The fate is in our own hands. I won’t say what you mentioned. It’s not in our heads. It’s about us performing at our best – when it comes to the result (the victory), it’s really exciting.”
