Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez has revealed that he wants to be remembered for his outstanding skills. Not as a mascot who always won trophies wherever he went football.

Alvarez was part of Argentina’s 2022 World Cup winning squad. And helped captain Lionel Messi unlock the World Cup after failing to do so earlier in the season UFABET

The club name used to be a Man City player under the management of Josep Guardiola. Who was able to fight until helping the ‘Sky Blues’ win the 2023 Champions League for the team. And it was Pep’s first time at City.

It has sparked expectations from the media and Atletico fans. That he will join Atletico in making history as their mascot as the club’s new champion.

However, the 24-year-old doesn’t want the focus to be on his own achievements. But rather on being remembered as a player the team is ready to rely on to make a mark.

“One thing I always dream about is winning. I love playing for the championship and I love the competition.” He said during the press conference.

“I didn’t feel like a superhero when Argentina won the World Cup.”

“I also think it’s unfair to Messi if he’s seen as not having the ability to do it himself.”

“For me, too, I want to see it as an impact on the team. Not just a supporting character. I’m here to contribute, help the team and fight for every competition we compete in.”

Alvarez has been training with the team for almost a week. With hopes of being named in the squad for the opening match of the new La Liga season against Villarreal (August 19 ) .
